Warranty coverage begins from the date of original purchase and applies to manufacturing defects in construction and weaving only.

How to Raise a Warranty Claim

If you discover a defect that you believe falls under our warranty, please contact us within the warranty period:

Please include the following with your claim:

  • Your original proof of purchase (order confirmation or invoice)
  • 3 clear photographs of the defect
  • A brief description of the issue

Our team will review your claim within 3–5 business days and provide the best possible resolution. If the defect is confirmed to be covered under warranty, we will arrange repair or replacement at no cost for the product itself.

Warranty Terms

  • Warranties are non-transferable and apply only to the original purchaser
  • Proof of original purchase is required for all warranty claims
  • If your rug is replaced under warranty, the remaining warranty period will be calculated from your original purchase date — not the replacement date
  • Logistics charges for returning the rug are to be borne by the customer. HummingHaus can arrange pickup and delivery for your convenience upon request.

What Is Not Covered

The following are normal characteristics of handmade natural fibre rugs and are not considered manufacturing defects:

Natural fibre behaviour

  • Pile shedding — common with natural fibres and reduces naturally with time and use
  • Occasional sprouting, pulls or loss of single tufts of fibre
  • Matting or crushing of pile — can be minimised with regular maintenance and vacuuming

Colour & texture

  • Colour and texture changes due to the natural properties of fibres and dyes
  • Fading caused by prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, humidity, heat or atmospheric conditions
  • Slight colour variations between the product displayed online and the item delivered — screen resolutions and display settings vary across devices

Packaging & storage

  • Rolling marks from packaging — these typically disappear with routine vacuuming
  • Odour from storage — place the rug back-side up in direct sunlight for 24 hours to dissipate naturally

Slight variations in colour, texture, design and dimensions are inherent to the handmade process and are not faults — they are the signature of a piece made entirely by human hands. Each rug is unique, and we believe that is precisely what makes it worth owning.

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to prevent fading
  • Vacuum regularly to prevent matting and remove surface debris
  • Do not machine wash — refer to our Rug Care Guide for cleaning instructions
  • Rotate your rug periodically to ensure even wear
