How long does a handmade rug take to be delivered after an order?
Delivery timelines depend on the construction and customisation involved. Ready to Ship rugs are dispatched within 5–7 business days. Made-to-order rugs have a general lead time of 4–6 weeks from order confirmation — each rug is handcrafted specifically for you by artisans in Mirzapur. Every product listing carries an estimated delivery indication. We strive to deliver in the quickest time possible without compromising on quality.
Do you ship handmade rugs all across India?
Yes — HummingHaus ships to every pin code across India. All our prices are inclusive of free shipping. No minimum order value, no hidden charges.
Are the product prices inclusive of taxes and shipping?
Absolutely. All prices on humminghaus.com are inclusive of applicable taxes and shipping. What you see at checkout is what you pay — nothing more.
How can I get updates on my order?

Will I get a tax invoice for my purchase?
Yes. A tax invoice is generated for every purchase and sent to you at the time of dispatch. You can add your GSTIN while placing the order to have it reflected on your invoice.

How can I choose a custom colour for my rug?
You can provide a Pantone colour code or send a physical fabric swatch as reference. Our artisans will match your specifications as closely as possible using natural dyes and fibres.
Do you offer bulk or wholesale orders?

Where are your rugs made?
All HummingHaus rugs are handcrafted in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, India (PIN: 231001). From weaving to quality inspection to dispatch — every step happens here, under our direct supervision.
Do your rugs contain any harmful chemicals?
No. All HummingHaus rugs are made using 100% natural fibres through a completely handmade process. No harmful chemicals are used at any stage of production.
Are HummingHaus rugs suitable for all climates?
Yes. Our rugs are crafted from 100% natural fibres — wool, hemp, jute, cotton and viscose — making them durable, breathable and well-suited to any Indian city or climate.
Are your rugs pet-friendly?
Yes — all our rugs are pet-friendly. Crafted from natural, durable fibres, they are designed to withstand daily use and are safe and comfortable for your pets.
Are your rugs kid-friendly?
Yes. We particularly recommend our Hemp & Jute rugs and Viscose & Bamboo Silk rugs for kids' spaces — they are durable, easy to maintain and do not shed. Wool rugs are also safe but may shed slightly during the first few months, which is completely normal.
Are your rugs GI tagged or certified?
Our rugs are handcrafted in Mirzapur — one of India's most celebrated and historic weaving centres. Every piece is made by trained artisans using traditional techniques passed down over generations. We stand behind the authenticity and quality of every rug we make.
What is the coating service and should I opt for it?
We offer an optional protective coating on select rugs that helps repel stains and extends the life of the rug. Please note that coating charges are strictly non-refundable once applied, regardless of the reason for return or cancellation. Ask our team for details before placing your order.
How do I measure my space for the right rug size?
Here are our general sizing guidelines:
- Living room — leave 18–24 inches of bare floor around the rug's edges
- Dining room — the rug should extend at least 24 inches beyond the table on all sides so chairs remain on the rug when pulled out
- Bedroom — place under the lower two-thirds of the bed, extending equally on both sides
- Hallway/Runner — leave 4–6 inches of bare floor on each side

Care & Maintenance
Are your rugs safe for vacuuming?
Yes. Use the handheld or low-suction attachment for regular maintenance. Avoid high-powered vacuums with beater bars as these can pull threads from the pile. Vacuum weekly for best results.
Can your rugs be washed in a washing machine?
No. Handmade rugs made from natural fibres should never be machine washed. For routine cleaning, vacuum regularly. For spills, blot immediately with a clean white cloth and lukewarm water. For deep cleaning, we recommend professional rug washing.
Do your rugs require a rug pad?
While our rugs are designed with sufficient thickness and firmness, we recommend using a non-slip rug pad — particularly on smooth flooring. A rug pad prevents movement, extends the life of your rug and adds extra cushioning underfoot.
How do I care for my rug long term?
Please refer to our complete Rug Care & Maintenance Guide on the website. It covers vacuuming, spot cleaning, shedding, fading, odour, creases and rotation — everything you need to keep your rug looking its best for years.
Returns & Warranty
Do you offer easy returns?
Yes. You can return any standard online purchase within 7 days of delivery. Refunds are issued as store credit points (1 INR = 1 Credit Point), valid for 1 year. Please visit our Easy Returns Policy page for full details. Custom and made-to-order rugs are not eligible for return.
Does HummingHaus offer a warranty?
Yes. All HummingHaus rugs come with a manufacturing defect warranty — 18 months for hand-knotted rugs and 12 months for hand-tufted rugs and dhurries. Please visit our Warranty Policy page for full details.

Does HummingHaus have a physical store?
Currently we do not have a physical store. You can order conveniently through humminghaus.com with delivery to all pin codes across India.
